Great pictures David. How lucky to find the holes in the ground. I am researching cicadas with the children at Waipawa. We were most interested in their rostrum as I had felt stinging pin pricks as one rested on my finger! Great info can be found online at Cicada Mania.
I've put up some photos we had of the tymbals. I wonder if it was using it's beak to try and drink?
Yes we think it was attempting to suck 'sap' out of me! Really like the last posting. Would like to print and use if thats okay?
